Yorkshire Lions FC has started building a £1m soccer facility to cater for 200 junior players from across kirklees. The state of the art facility, which is currently being built will feature two full size pitches and three mini pitches all with flood lights and a clubhouse. The complex at Warrenside, will hopefully be finished in time for september, when the new season begins. The new facility will host local and district league games, including the RCD Junior Football League Cup Finals, together with events organised by community groups and schools. The club secured the money for this project from the Football Foundation (£600,000) Kirklees (£120,000) with the remainder from Yorkshire Lions members and private donations, also we still have some money to raise.
